DINAL SAMARASINGHE is a Sri
Lankan herpetologist, wildlife photographer, and member of the Young Zoologists’ Association (YZA) based at the
National Zoological Gardens of Sri Lanka. His research is mainly focused on territoriality, aggressive behavior,
and vocal communication in anurans. Presently, he leads a study on systematics, distribution patterns, and ecology
of the genus Varanus in India and Sri Lanka. Dinal also works as a venom extractor at the Snake Venom Research
Laboratory and Herpetarium (SVRLH), Faculty of Medicine, University of Colombo.
