CRAIG HASSAPAKIS has keen interests in herpetology, conservation, science progress, and organizational development. Since graduating from Brigham Young University in 1988 with degrees in Zoology (major) and Chemistry (minor) he has been an educator, author, field biologist, and business owner. He founded the journal Amphibian and Reptile Conservation in 1996, printed the first four issues, and still continues to direct the journal as editor, and distribute research papers, both in print (on demand), and online as an open access publication. Craig is also an editor for the IUCN/SSC Amphibian Specialist Group, newsletter, FrogLog. He is presently developing the Amphibian Conservation and Cloning Lab (ACCL) to assist the long-term preservation of amphibians: by collecting species, conducting cloning and cryopreservation research, publication, and assisted captive and natural population management. Craig was instrumental in developing social networking sites in herpetology and administrates the Professional Herpetologists (PH), Amphibian & Reptile Conservation (ARC), History, Bibliography, and Art of Herpetology (HBAH), and ACCL groups on Facebook. Craig lives in northern California, close to major centers of research and academia.
